Sunday Morning Coffee
Step Up and Get Free Starbucks Coffee!
Want a free cup of Starbucks coffee? Starbucks is answering Barack Obama’s Call to Service - which I so totally and fully support - by sweetening the pot - the coffee pot, that is. They’re handing out a free tall Starbucks coffee to anyone who drops by one of their Starbucks stores between Wednesday, January 21st and Sunday, January 25th to sign a volunteer pledge card. All they’re asking for is a promise to volunteer 5 hours of your time in the next year to the community service of your choice. That’s 5 hours in a YEAR - 25 minutes a month if you break it down that way. You get a free cup of Starbucks coffee PLUS that good feeling inside for helping other people.
Here’s how to get your FREE CUP OF STARBUCKS COFFEE .
- Visit your local Starbucks store.
- Look for the I’m In! display.
- Fill out an I’m In! community service pledge card.
- Peel off the I’m In! sticker on your Starbucks pledge card and stick it on your lapel (or your forehead, if you so choose!)
- Go to the counter and get your FREE Tall Starbucks Brewed Coffee!
Afraid you’ll forget to get your free Starbucks coffee in the bustle of Inauguration week? You can drop by http://pledge5.starbucks.com/ and sign up for an email reminder to go sign a pledge card and get your free coffee from Starbucks. After the 21st, you can also use pledge5.starbucks.com to register your pledge, find places to volunteer in your community and track your volunteer hours. Starbucks is shooting for 1,000,000 hours of volunteer service from its customers this year - are you in? I am - and they don’t even have to bribe me with free Starbucks coffee (I’d rather drink my own roast!)

Hmm, I’m not much of a coffee-drinker, but I can rarely resist freebies, and I’ve been meaning to go back to volunteering at the animal shelter…any idea if they’d give you tea or something instead?
I suspect it would be up to individual Starbucks managers - I’ll bet most would happily substitute a tea for the large coffee. Good on you for volunteering with the animals.
