I’ve Been Tagged

Published by chameleonsdream at 1:26 pm under Just Coffee Edit This

TagYep. I’ve been tagged by fromhuskiestohusbands so I guess I get to display this nifty little TAG and go distribute it to seven other people - after I tell you seven weird facts about me. I like - NEVER- do these things, so the fact that I’m doing it should tell you just how much I like fromhuskiestohusbands. That means y’all should all go over and give her some coffee luvn - you know, sweet and strong, right?

So. Seven weird facts about me.

Or seven facts, at any rate. Y’all can decide how weird they are.

  1. The ice cube catcher that goes with the automatic ice cube maker in my freezer has a hole burned through the plastic from the time my son decided to find out if fire freezes. He put his sister’s lit candle in the freezer and closed the door. Fire does not freeze. It does smother, thank heavens.
  2. I share an apartment with the father of my three youngest children even though we broke up 13 years ago and have not had a relationship beyond co-parenting since then. Guys who want to date me get over it - or don’t. If they can’t deal, it’s their issue not mine.
  3. I grew up with a cast-iron stove in the kitchen and a coal-burning furnace in the basement. One of my earliest chores was going down to the cellar to draw a glass of wine for my grandmother from the cask of wine made with homemade grapes. I’m still enchanted by vintage linoleum and kitchen sets that bring me back to my grandmother’s kitchen.
  4. I collect blue glass bottles and vases. My favorite blue glass bottles are ones that have actually been used. I think it goes back to the royal blue bottle of Brioschi that my grandmother kept in the medicine cabinet. I used to sneak into the bathroom and eat Brioschi by the teaspoonful because I loved the fizzy burn of it as it melted on my tongue.
  5. I’m old enough to remember the first time that Pepsi used the slogan “Pepsi: The Choice of a Generation”. I was also one of the “Pepsi People - Living Free”. If I can’t get a Pepsi, I’ll choose an RC. It’s an evil habit that I’ll have to give up eventually, but right now, I drink at least one 20 ounce Pepsi a day.
  6. I’d rather drink fresh roast coffee than anything, but I do love me my Dunkin Donuts coffee. I have to. I’m Boston born-and-bred, so it’s kinda like a rule that I have to like Dunkins coffee. I take it extra large, extra light, one sugar and don’t put no fancy flavors in it, thanks.
  7.  I am the only person I know who can kill mint in a garden - by accident. If you have ever grown an outdoor herb garden, you know what I’m talking about.

And now I get to pick seven blogs to tag. And I guess there’s no tagsies back so I’m gonna tag some random blogs that I’ve found lately and really enjoyed. Go visit them and give them some coffee luv’n too.

CROCODILE SOUP FOR THE SOUL where Lanne posts some awesome quick recipes (like 10 ways to use Pillsbury Crescent rolls, which I keep in the fridge for quick meal preps too so you know I gotta love the girl)

The Girly Anti Geek gets tagged for making me giggle and smile this morning with her tales of being technically challenged in a tech-heavy world (record fart sounds for ringtones?? yeah, you gotta read this girl)

Eating in New Zealand is a must-read if you love food, even if you live nowhere near New Zealand (which I don’t). I spend lots of time drooling over the amazing pictures and descriptions of menu items at various NZ restaurants. You should, too.

JennCooks is a new discovery and I love it! Never mind recipes - she takes step by step photos as she cooks regular, everyday stuff like Chop Suey and Taco Soup and .. Chex Mix. Yeah, Chex Mix!  Go peep some gorgeous pics and cook along with Jenn.

NonFiction Lover is loads of fun to read - it’s more than just book reviews, and the book reviews are good, too. Besides, Hava is celebrating reaching her goal of posting every single day in January, so go over there and give her some lov’n and a hot cup of coffee in congratulations!

Journeys and Adventures has very rapidly become a favorite of mine. Jennifer is a travel writer who blogs about the places that she visits and gives you lots of lovely tidbits that you won’t find in the tourist descriptions. Check her out to find out about Krakow this week.

Stiletto Philosopher is a new favorite read. You could also go read Your Dark Passenger, because Jen is funny wherever you read her. This month, she’d leading up to Valentine’s Day at Stiletto, though, so you really really should go read it.

So that’s my seven tags - because no good deed (like writing a great blog) goes unpunished. Y’all know the rules. Just in case: If I tagged you, you’re supposed to:

  1. Display The TAG (you can download it above)
  2. Blog about seven weird facts about yourself
  3. Tag 7 blogs in your post
  4. Comment on each of the 7 blogs to let them know you tagged them - which is what I’m just about to do.
