Keurig updated their top of the line single cup coffee brewer, the Platinum B70, a while back and dropped the price by $30… that’s right, they made it better AND cheaper!
So - truth time here. We all know that I’m a huge fan of DIY coffee - from roast to cup. I like to start with green beans, roast them myself in a pan or popcorn popper, and brew it in a press pot or even a saucepan on the stove. On the other hand, I sometimes really appreciate convenience, especially if the convenience doesn’t come at the expense of decent coffee. If you like your coffee neat, sweet and easy, a Keurig is definitely the way to go. How do I know this? Because it’s how my mom makes her coffee now.
So what’s to like about the new, updated Keurig B70 Platinum? Here’s the quick rundown:
- It runs QUIETly - like you can barely hear it even when it’s pumping.
- It makes great coffee, keeping the water at the right temperature for brewing.
- It has a new ICED coffee setting. Just fill a cup with ice and use the 3.5 oz iced setting
- It’s programmable, so you can set it to make your coffee for you.
- It’s a very, very pretty machine, and you know how I feel about pretty machines.
- Best of all - it’s $30 cheaper than it was last year. You can now buy a Keurig Platinum B70 Single Cup Coffee Brewer (the one that they gave away at the Grammies last year) for $169.95.
I’ll just add that one of the biggest reasons I prefer the Keurig to any other single cup coffee brewer I’ve seen is the incredible variety of coffees, teas and hot chocolate that’s available in K-cups… and the fact that you can MAKE YOUR OWN K-cups. Yes, you can.

@Melinda Heh. Thanks for dropping by! I lovelovelove your blog ;). I left both comments up so that I could say that Today.com is working on fixing that “no confirmation” thing - they had put it up so that it SAID comments were being moderated if they are, but the code may drop the ball somewhere. I moderate first time posters just to be on the safe side and avoid spam comments.
