One of the reasons I really appreciate Green Mountain Coffee Roasters - aside from the excellent quality of the coffee that they sell - is the way they are moving all of their coffee lines toward Fair Trade (and fairly traded) coffees. The company has set a goal, and they move toward it each year. This isn’t a company with a lip service approach to fairer prices for coffee - it is a central tenent of their operating principles. Between Green Mountain brand coffees and the partnerships that Keurig has with other companies committed to growing their stake in Fair Trade and fairly traded coffees, Keurig and Green Mountain coffee roasters offers a huge assortment of guilt-free coffees at reasonable prices.
This morning, I’m enjoying the rare treat of a cup of Fair Trade Organic Sumatran Reserve coffee from Green Mountain Coffee. I’m a fan of Sumatran coffee anyway - I love mixing the beans with Ethiopian and Mexican beans, where the sweet, rich flavors of the Sumatran coffee adds depth and chocolatey grace notes to the earthiness of the Yrgacheffe. I seldom drink Sumatran coffee alone, especially in the morning - the sweetness and full body makes it a perfect after dinner coffee. This morning, though, is cold, damp and raw, and the syrupy sweetness is as comforting and warm as a hot cup of cocoa.
Today’1s 31DBBB Lesson - Day 9 - Join a Forum and Start Participating
We’re far behind in the ProBlogger 31DBBB lesson plan, but I have been keeping up on things as time permits. Day 9’s post talks about the benefits of joining a forum related to your blog topic and becoming a valuable member of the community. One of my favorite points from Darren’s post on using a forum to promote your blog - which really is a misnomer, because what he’s talking about is only tangentially blog promotion - it’s really more like YOU-promotion - is that forums are a great place to get ideas for new blog posts. What he suggests is that you keep your eyes open when posting on the forums for good subjects to tackle on your blog. What sort of thing do people ask often? What subjects engender the most discussion?
Have you found a forum that suits your blog subject? Have you found anything to spark your inspiration for your blog? Drop a comment and share!
Have you written a post about your participation in 31DBBB or do you have a post that was inspired by something you read on a forum? Link to it on Mr. Linky so we can read it and see what you’re learning!
Be sure to leave a comment after linking so that I can add you to the permanent links from this post later!
