Do you want to support the Fair Trade Coffee Break, but have no event in your area? I’ve got the solution for you! From May 9th to May 14th, I’m hosting The Great Virtual Fair Trade Coffee Break right here at CoffeeBreak Today.

What is the Fair Trade Coffee Break?

May 9, 2009 is World Fair Trade Day, an international celebration of Fair Trade, with events taking place in over 80 countries. All around the world, people like you and me make their living growing coffee, making handmade crafts, growing cacao beans, farming and harvesting a whole range of produce. Fair Trade was developed as a way to ensure that individual farmers, crafters and small businesses receive a fair price for the product of their labors. On May 9, people around the world will join together to celebrate the concept of Fair Trade and help raise awareness of the Fair Trade movement. This year, the U.S. Fair Trade organization is shooting for a world record with the largest Fair Trade Coffee Break in history. Learn more about the Fair Trade Coffee Break.

There are a lot of different ways to get involved in the Fair Trade Coffee Break. You can host your own event, attend an event near you or even make an individual pledge at TransFair USA. They’ve even made it easy by letting you Pledge to Enjoy a Cup of Fair Trade Joe on Facebook.
